Don’t give up: your Handwriting can help you be a Success

Although I have been creating websites for several years,  blog software is new to me, and, although this is an easy program to use, it’s still new to me.  So as I’ve been struggling with various features I got to thinking about the traits in handwriting that show someone who has “stick-with-it-ness” – in other words, they won’t give up or give in easily.success sign

1. Persistence

A word commonly used to describe not giving up.

However in handwriting, there are several other traits in addition to the one named persistence which can help you hang in there.

2. Tenacity

This means you hang on and it shows in writing where at the end of a stroke, when the pen would normally be removed from the paper, the writer “hangs on” and creates a hook at the end before finally stopping writing.  The bigger the hook the stronger the tenacity.

3. Determination

Another persistence trait.  It shows when “lower extenders” (lines in script that goe below the baseline of the writing, such as the tails of y, g, h and f) that go downwards strongly, straight and long.  Whether or not there is a loop is not relevant here.

The trait with the name of persistence shows in an anti-clockwise loop which can be found anywhere in any letter, but is often found in the capital A or H, the t-bar of a lower case “t” or can also be used as an ampersand, replacing the word “and.”

4. And lastly, not to forget stubbornness.

Often taken as a negative, stubbornness is often a Success Trait. They may drive everyone else nuts but they won’t give up!

In fact all of the traits mentioned above are Success Traits.  They will help you get to where you want to go, and overcome the obstacles along the way.
