Secretiveness: Can you keep a Secret? Quick Tip #12

When you say the phrase “keeping a secret” most people immediately think of deep, dark, mysterious or bad topics.  Or “What do you have to hide.”

But really secretiveness is just maintaining confidentiality.

And the trait of secretiveness is easy to identify in handwriting.

It may well be a terrible truth that is being hidden, but it might just as easily be just some personal information you would prefer to keep to yourself for no reason other than liking some privacy.

However, people can often sense secretiveness.  They just get the feeling that you are not being completely open about things.  Then they start to wonder why.

So in this sense secretiveness takes away from honesty, as it gives others the feelings of less than honesty, even although, in actual fact, there may be absolutely no reason why you should have to divulge any specific information.

An extremely private person, who keeps much information to themselves, can be hard to gauge, hard to understand.

You may not actively distrust this person, but at the same time you are less likely to confide in them than in someone who is very open, honest and readably so.

Secretiveness shows in loops on the right side of circle letters a, o, d and g.

In the above sample, the first word “on” shows secretiveness by the circle on the right of the “o”.

The more often it appears the more secretive the person.

The bigger the loops the deeper the secret.  By the time you find writing with the loop so large it is almost a circle the same size drawn twice, you may not even be aware that this person is keeping any secrets at all, but they will certainly come across as closed in some areas.

It is useful when dealing with other people to recognize this trait as it can help you avoid probing or being inquisitive, even with the best of motives.

Let the secretive person keep their secrets, Respect their wish for privacy and you will get along much better.
