Procrastination: How to identify it and how to stop it

Webster’s Dictionary describes procrastination as “to put off doing something that should be done, dawdle, delay.”

In handwriting there is a trait called procrastination, that means just that: to put off, dawdle or delay.  But it is not the only trait that illustrates this behavior.

That is one of the amazing (and useful) things about handwriting analysis, that is can show you, with a clarity that nothing else I know of can, from there the behavior originates and what is the underlying cause.

Here are eight other traits that can hold you back and “masquerade” as procrastination. » Continue reading “Procrastination: How to identify it and how to stop it”

Listening Skills and your Handwriting

Listening is a skill.  It is a skill that remarkably few people have to any degree.

In general we think of listening as staying quiet as someone talks.

Read on and identify your listening strengths and weaknesses. » Continue reading “Listening Skills and your Handwriting”

Memories: how will you look back?

I write this as the old year disappears and tonight at midnight a brand new year will start.

Traditionally this is a time of memories.  A time to look back and remember what good and bad happened over the past year.  Perhaps to wonder what we could have done better, but hopefully to celebrate what we did spectacularly well.

Writing gives insights into how each writer will look back.  Which are you?

Did you spend too much?

In the Western world, the week after Christmas is a time of spending.

Shops offer sales and shoppers push, shove and stand in line for hours if necessary to get bargains.

What in writing will show who is likely to be an overly-avid post-Christmas shopper?  Here are a few strokes to consider. » Continue reading “Did you spend too much?”

Did you eat too much?

Christmas is over for another year.  Did you eat too much?

Your writing cannot show what you actually ate, or how much, but it can show whether you have the inclination to be someone who enjoys food and perhaps has trouble knowing when to stop!

There are other reasons, of course, for over eating, but if your reason is just that you enjoy food so much, you may find it showing in your writing. » Continue reading “Did you eat too much?”

Who’ll find the best shopping deals? Personality in the Marketplace.

The day after Christmas, which is today as I write this, in North America, is the day when people pack the shops even more than they did before Christmas, as they shop for bargains, make returns on unwanted gifts, and generally try to survive the mobs as they get the best “deals.”

“Mayhem” is a good word to describe it.

But like every other occasion in life, people’s writing can give accurate insights into how someone is likely to behave. » Continue reading “Who’ll find the best shopping deals? Personality in the Marketplace.”

Confused and confusing

Confusion of interests is a interesting trait.

It indicates someone who has so many things on the go that they are spinning their wheels, getting few things actually finished.

Obviously someone who has organizational ability will take longer to get to this point, but confusion can appear in the writing of anyone, if the situation is right. » Continue reading “Confused and confusing”

Printing or script: what does it say about me?

“I write with a mixture of printing and joined-up writing. What does that mean?”

I hear that question so often after I have made a presentation on handwriting analysis to a group.

People always seem to assume it’s something negative, but it’s not…  In fact it’s a really useful ability to have.  With other positive attributes, it can become a real gift. » Continue reading “Printing or script: what does it say about me?”

Your signature shows where you want to be.

- Is the past where you would like to be?

- Or are you very much in the present wanting to know what is happening all around you?

- Or are you anxious and eager to get on into the future and all the possibilities it offers?

Your signature tells a great deal about you.  But quite apart from how it is written, where it is written gives some terrific clues about the writer. » Continue reading “Your signature shows where you want to be.”
